Weekend and my mini-goal update:

This weekend went pretty good. I got my workouts done and lifted weights as planned. I tried my best to watch what I ate. On saturday, I had so much fun at the tumblr meet-up in Philly! I would definitely do it again! :D

As for my mini-goal…

For this week, I have managed to complete my mini-goal of :

  • Exercising for 30 minutes a day (at least)
  • Strength training for 15 minutes a day

Yay!!! I am going to make my mini-goal for this week to continue doing this everyday. I really want to make this a habit! And now that I think of it, I’ll add this to my mini-goal for this week as well:

  • Write down everything in my food journal

I have been out of control as far as eating lately. I’m not necessarily eating unhealthy but I may be eating too much food in general. I have been hungrier than usual this past week, probably because of consistent weight lifting and workouts. 

My ride went to the gym without me.

What a way to start the day. So I’ll be doing the Jililan michaels shred-it and lifting weights in my living room.

I was really looking forward to the gym though =[

And helloooooo October

I didn’t reach my goal but that’s alright. However I am being more consistent with working out and lifting weights! I just can’t believe that this month is over already! So I’ll just keep this little goal for the month of October as well. Maybe second time’s the charm right?

My goals for October:

  1. Get out of the 160’s. 
  2. Continue working out for at least 30 minutes a day
  3. Continue to lift weights consistently 
  4. Keep a food diary and jot down my workouts

 Before you know it, the holiday season will be here! That means a lot of food and temptation. I want to lose a little before the season of my favorite holiday treats approaches! 

And over the weekend…

I bought this awesome notepad (It’s actually a mousepad, but whatever)! I plan on using it to record my eating and workouts. I love how it’s for 5 days a week since I mainly screw up on the weekends but hey, 5 days of healthy eating and exercise is better than nothing right? And of course I will still work out on the weekends as well. Eventually, I’ll get to a point in time where I can eat better on the weekends, probably when I move out of the house…ideally.

Also, I found out that my Wii console still lives! I guess that means I’ll be back to my daily Wii Fit morning ritual. I actually missed it. 

I started this weight loss/health journey around March and it was amazing to be able to look back at my progress so far on Wii Fit. It’s amazing how far I’ve come. Just a few months ago I was obese and now I’m only 10 pounds away from a normal, healthy weight! I’m really excited because it sort of gave me a new outlook on this journey. I want to be at a  healthy weight and it isn’t that far away! I don’t think I’ve ever been in the normal weight range before, so it’s kind of scary, more like an adventure into the unknown. I know I can do it! 

A mini-goal for this week.

I always plan ahead what I want to do as far as workouts… it’s actually doing it that’s the problem. I think a big part of it is that I intimidate myself with unrealistic goals. I’ll schedule myself  to do over an hour and a half of aerobics and strength training combined and end up flaking out for the day due to lack of time, energy, or whatnot. I’m always making up excuses. Well, not anymore. This week, I am setting a mini-goal of:

  • Exercising for 30 minutes a day (at least)
  • Strength training for 15 minutes a day

Sounds doable right? I was going to have this as my October goal but what better time to start than now? 

Just finished working out with kettlebells and weights.

Along with a bowl of oatmeal. Yum!

Hopefully my arms will still be intact tomorrow morning…

Today started out great…

I woke up super early this morning to workout:

  • 35 minutes on the elliptical
  • 10 minutes on treadmill
  • Leg weight machines (not sure what they’re called)

I ate really healthy today until I started to stress out about school work. That’s when it all went downhill. I didn’t do that bad, I’m just so disappointed that I allowed myself to mess up all the hard work that I had done earlier. I’m sure I didn’t totally mess it up, I was under my calorie limit for today anyway, but still. I hate ending days on a sad note. 

I just have to do better tomorrow. I will do better tomorrow.

Loving my new workout DVD!

I’ve been looking around for a new workout DVD to use my kettlebells with. The DVD that came with them is kind of slow and boring so I wanted something a little more intense. Well, here it is! I purchased it at Best Buy yesterday and used it this morning and I love it! 

I’m getting there…

This morning:

  • Power walking on the treadmill for 50 minutes at different levels

This afternoon:

  • squats
  • lunges
  • crunches

I am sore and I haven’t felt that way in a long time. I sort of missed it. Tomorrow’s challenge will be to record what I eat and to eat every 3-4 hours even though I’m at school (I usually skip eating when I take classes). That’s my mini-goal for tomorrow! 

My food choices weren’t all that bad today compared to how I have been before. To be honest I don’t remember everything I ate today because I never made a mental note to remember today. I’m glad I’m getting back on track. It feels great =]

So far so good today!

After a weekend of craziness I am forcing myself to get back on track. My other attempts up to this point have failed, mainly due to laziness and procrastination. NOT TODAY.

I woke up, ate a healthy breakfast of oatmeal and apple slices, did a half hour of step aerobics, and lifted weights! 

Now, I will go do homework! 

C25k!

I finished day one of my C25k iphone app and I feel…well, great!

I woke up this morning not in the mood to run and I kept telling myself ‘I can’t run’ the entire ride to the gym (oh yeah. The flat is fixed!). But once I got there I decided to just try it and see how far I could go. Turns out it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! I’m glad I got the guts to finally do it!

  • Mango granola crunch cereal w/ almond milk

Snack:

  • Yogurt w/ graham cracker pieces

Lunch:

  • Mac-n-cheese with a huge plate of raw spinach

Snack:

  • Trader Joe’s caramel corn
  • Vanilla Soycream

Dinner:

  • Mahi mahi burger w/ more spinach

Water Consumed:

  • 2 liters!

Exercise Included:

  • weight lifting 

I’ll be honest and say that I have failed in the workout depot. today. I woke up late and was too lazy the rest of the day. I was angry for a good chunk of the day too. I guess the exercise would have helped. 

Tomorrow, I will kick my butt at the gym.

It’ll be fun!

Breakfast:

  • Vanilla Almond cereal/ almond milk

Snack:

  • Fiber One vanilla yogurt
  • a few bites of cake again

Dinner:

  • Grilled mozzarella and green peppers on whole wheat bread

Water Consumed:

  • A little over 2 liters today!

Exercise Included:

  • 50 minutes on the treadmill- 550 calories burned
  • 30 minutes of lower body toning

I didn’t eat very much today. I fell asleep and missed lunch time -_-
